Who are we?

Jesture is a home of theatre makers, movement and embodiment training for artists (and the artistically minded) to recharge their spirit, body, and imagination.

Andrew Cory is a practicing clown and movement coach, who for more than three decades has taught the next generation of artists – building their presence on stage, and in life.

After decades of practice, there was one common trait which he noticed consistently separated the compelling artist from the rest.

It was their abundant sense of play, generosity and embodiment.
Noticing a distinct lack of training that acknowledges the connection between these elements, he knew something had to change.

After several years training actors at leading tertiary institutions, and inspired by the philosophy and practice of the clown, it was time to create something new.

Jesture was born out of the necessity to reintroduce artistry into the lives of all people.

Clowning serves as the philosophical basis of Andrew’s practice.

Clowning is an essential craft, which in his decades of experience, has consistently delivered humanity, joy, and connection. It is the foundation of all our training – essential for the dramatic actor, comedian, and artist.

Along with offering a dedicated suite of movement training courses, the company was built on the standard of innovation, and pragmatism.
